This educational course is based on SAMHSAs Focus on Prevention: Strategies and Programs to Prevent Substance Use. This training covers strategies that have been used in the prevention of substance use.  The training will provide counselors with information on how to  conduct a needs assessments, identify partners, and create effective strategies for marketing and program evaluation.  This education covers the Counseling skill of the Eight Counselor Skill Groups ascribed by NAADAC and NCC AP.

Learning ObjectivesUpon completion of this education course, the participant will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of prevention strategies;
  2. Identify knowledge of tools and resources in the community;
  3. Describe Strategies that work and evaluation methods.
