This educational course covers SAMHSAs Medication for the Treatment of Alcohol Use Disorders: A brief Guide Publication. The readings will provide guidance on the use of medication-assisted treatment for alcohol use misuse. It summarizes approved medications, screening and assessment, treatment planning, and patient monitoring. This education covers the Clinical Intake and Screening skill of the Eight Counselor Skill Groups ascribed by NAADAC and NCC AP.
Upon completion of this education course, the participant will be able to:
- Explain The uses of medication to treat alcohol use disorders;
- Discuss approved medications used in treatment;
- Identify the treatment and screening and assessment tools;
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient monitoring.
