This educational course is based on the CDC technical package: Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect. There is a strong correlation between child abuse and neglect and the use of substances. This training covers the prevalence of child abuse and neglect, prevention and treatment methods. This education covers the Counseling Services and Case Management skills of the Eight Counselor Skill Groups ascribed by NAADAC and NCC AP.
Upon completion of this education course, the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of risk factors for child abuse and neglect;
- Assess prevention methods and treatment for children who experience child abuse and neglect;
- Identify interventions to lessen harm and prevent future risk.
